Capabilities & Working Conditions

Can I use the Grator in the rain or wet swampy conditions?

Warranty doesn't cover water damage. Works in wet conditions but electronics aren't waterproof (water resistant, IP45 motors). Long wet work could cause problems.

What are the characteristics of Grator Lowrider?

4x4 drive up to 70°, 105x60x30cm dimensions, 56cm blade, 57kg weight, steel/aluminium construction, 2+ hour battery (41Ah 52V Li-ion), 3-hour recharge, 2000W mulcher, remote height adjustment (2-9cm), 200m remote range, 2-year warranty, minimal maintenance required.

Can I wash the Grator with a pressure washer?

Don't pressure wash. Water can turn accumulated dust into wet paste causing short-circuits. Warranty excludes water damage. Instead, use a leafblower and window-cleaning spray with wipes.

Can the Grator really climb a 70° degree slope?

Yes, if the conditions are right. The ground has to be dry, hard, and firmly held together with thick grass. 70° is the edge case engineering capability - not a safe operating recommendation.

How much land can the Grator mow per charge?

Depends on growth density/height, steepness, obstacles, and humidity. Example: 3700m² per charge on a 40° slope with medium-high density, 30cm tall grass. The Grator is a mulcher with no side chute. It works differently from mowers. Tall grass takes multiple passes but there is no clean-up raking required in the end.

How long does it take to recharge the battery?

The Grator battery recharges in approximately 3 hours with the provided 25 Amp fast charger.

What maintenance does the Grator require?

Almost none. Clean with a leaf blower inside, clean dirt under the deck after mowing, and make sure the bolts haven't loosened due to vibrations.

What if my Grator breaks down while you don't yet have local servicing?

The Grator is designed for self-service. It has only 11 plug-and-play components. We provide how-to videos and diagnostic help. Spare parts delivered via FedEx within days.

Can the Grator mow by itself like a robot?

The Grator is remotely controlled for now. The autopilot module will be available as a future add-on. Even when it becomes available, the Grator shouldn't be left unsupervised. Unlike the small robotic garden mowers, the Grator can climb over obstacles and mow down small trees. It can do a lot of damage if something goes wrong. The owners will always have to supervise it.

How often should the Grator be serviced?

No servicing required. Clean it after each use. Check screw tightness and wire insulation integrity.
